Nerve Lab

The Nerve Lab is a specialist research lab within the UAL Creative Computing Institute that utilises the latest in wearable neuroimaging technology, motion capture and AI-powered performer/audience analytics, with a high performance LED volume.

I led this project with Prof. Tim Smith through successive rounds of funding to design a system that was fit for purpose, while minimising cost.

This system design includes:

  • Sony Verona 1.5mm LED

  • Brompton LED processing

  • High performance RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell render node

  • 18x Vicon VERO 2.2 motion capture system

  • Volfoni 3D glasses

  • Pupil Labs eye tracking

  • Enebio fNIRS system

  • Multi-channel Genelec sound system

  • Q-Sys control system

  • GUDE power distribution
